Call (845) 643-2768OSHA’s forklift rule, 29 CFR 1910.178(l), requires formal instruction, hands-on practice and an evaluation of how you operate the truck. Our hands-on class covers all three: classroom theory, driving practice and a practical evaluation on a sit-down forklift.
OSHA does not issue licenses for forklift operators, and it does not approve or certify training schools. Your employer authorizes you to operate their trucks at their workplace and may add a short site-specific check. Give them your certificate as proof of training.
In California, Cal/OSHA applies the same rule in Title 8, Section 3668 (8 CCR 3668).

When you pass the practical evaluation, you get your training certificate and a wallet card. Give a copy to your employer.

A government-issued photo ID, closed-toe work boots, and lunch and water. Arrive 15 minutes early.

One day, 8 AM – 4 PM, with breaks and a lunch break. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in.
No. The class is for new operators and for operators who need training or a re-evaluation. Your instructor starts with the basics and adjusts the driving practice to your level.
No. OSHA does not issue licenses for forklift operators. OSHA (29 CFR 1910.178(l)) requires training plus a practical evaluation, and your employer authorizes you to operate at your workplace. This class gives you the training and the evaluation; your employer may add a short site-specific check.

A sit-down counterbalance forklift, the most common warehouse and yard forklift. Need stand-up, reach or order picker? Call us and ask.
OSHA requires a re-evaluation at least every 3 years, and refresher training sooner after an incident or near miss, unsafe operation, a new type of truck or a change in your workplace.
Your instructor tells you what to work on. You can practise more and be re-evaluated; ask your instructor or call us about the options.
