Confined spaces such as tanks, vaults, silos, pits, sewers and crawl spaces can trap workers in a deadly atmosphere within minutes. This course is for entrants, attendants, entry supervisors and anyone who works near confined spaces, including utility, municipal, plant maintenance, construction, agriculture and industrial cleaning workers.
You will learn how to tell a confined space from a permit-required confined space, the main hazards (oxygen deficiency, toxic and flammable atmospheres, engulfment and moving parts), how atmospheric testing works and in what order, and how isolation, ventilation and lockout protect entrants. The course also covers the entry permit, the duties of the entrant, attendant and entry supervisor, communication, and rescue and emergency planning.
