It has 6 modules: why food safety matters and who sets the rules; personal hygiene and handwashing; employee health and illness reporting; time and temperature control; preventing cross-contamination and managing allergens; and cleaning, sanitizing and chemical safety. It is aligned with the FDA Food Code (2026 edition), which states and counties adopt with changes, and local rules take priority. Six embedded FDA and USDA videos add about 31 minutes.
The course is 100% online and self-paced and works on desktop, tablet or phone. You can stop and continue anytime, and your progress saves automatically. It ends with a 20-question final exam (pass mark 80%, unlimited free retakes, highest score counts). When you pass you can download a certificate of completion. The course is in English only.
