In a cardiac emergency, the first minutes matter. This course helps employees understand what to do while waiting for emergency services: recognize the emergency, call 911, and understand the basics of hands-only CPR, AED use and choking.

The course is built for employees who want to understand emergency basics, and for supervisors and safety coordinators who support a workplace first aid program. It refers to 29 CFR 1910.151 (medical services and first aid) and 1910.38 (emergency action plans).
It has 5 modules: cardiac emergencies at work and the rules behind them; recognizing the emergency and calling for help; hands-only CPR concepts; AED basics; and choking, the recovery position and your next steps. Six short videos from the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross support the lessons. Gama Safety is not affiliated with either organization.

It ends with a 15-question final exam (pass mark 80%, unlimited free retakes, highest score counts). When you pass you can download a certificate of completion. The course is in English only.
